Some of the employees since the beginning of the feed store in 1947 were: Bob and Art Headington, Otto Ruen, Ernest Winger, Ernest Thorson, Terry McKenna, Bob Jewell, Elmer Elagen, Richard Sensor, Robert Jewell, Larry Blake, Pete Olsgard, Reg Bakken, George Loomis, Dan Dawley, Jerry Samuelson, Julian Tangen, Duane Leuenberger, Marlin Osterhoudt and Melvin Solem. Present employees are: Curtis Solem, Charles Snitker, Carol Mincks, Randy Syverson and James Erickson.

Glen Arthur Thornton was born in Winneshiek Co., to Andrew and Pearl (Ruth) Thornton, He has one brother Ronald of Minneapolis, MN. Glen married DeLoris Solem 3 Oct 1948. DeLoris was born in Winneshiek Co. to Melvin and Clara (Young) Solem. She has a brother Curtis of Decorah and a sister Shirley of Cedar Rapids, IA. Glen and DeLoris have 6 children: Linda, Larry, Alan, Denise, Lori and Jenny.

Linda was born  in Decorah. She married Paul Schmell Dec 1967 and they had one daughter, Melissa. Then Linda married Marlin Osterhoudt 19 May 1971. Marlin was born to Howard and Cora Osterhoudt of Merra, NE. Linda and Marlin have 2 daughters: Angela and Amanda'.Marlin adopted Melissa about 1973. The family lives in Kenyon, MN. Marlin retired from the Navy after 20 years and now works for Wheaton Van Lines and Linda is manager of the Fairbault Mall. Melissa has a son Dalton Gunderson born 24 Apr 1990. They have 2 daughters: Ashlee and Raisa. They live in Shakopee, MN. Larry is office manager at Continental Machines and Lorris is the Shakopee Newspaper manager. Alan married Tamara Mihm 11 Nov 1978. Russel was born to William and Gloria Schuitz of Duluth, MN. Denise and Russel have one son: Tanner Thornton. They live in Merrill, Wl.
